NETWORK PERFORMANCE & SECURITY OPTIMIZATION

PAYING FOR FAST INTERNET BUT STILL HAVING NETWORK PROBLEMS?

Slow Wi-Fi. Buffering. Gaming lag. Dropped video calls. Dead zones. Unreliable cameras. Poor coverage. Network slowdowns when everyone gets online.

The problem may not be the Internet service coming into your property.

The problem may be the network behind it.

THE ISP DELIVERS THE INTERNET. ASAPTKS ENGINEERS, OPTIMIZES AND SECURES THE NETWORK BEHIND IT.

Your ISP may deliver 500 Mbps, 1 Gig or more to its modem or gateway. But that doesn’t mean the same performance is reaching every computer, television, gaming system, camera, phone, tablet or business device throughout your property.

FROM THE CABLE TO THE FIREWALL™

Performance • Capacity • Coverage • Security

THE INTERNET HAS GOTTEN FASTER. HAS YOUR INTERNAL NETWORK KEPT UP?

A modern home, home office or small business can have dozens of devices competing for network resources—streaming TVs, gaming systems, computers, video conferencing, phones, tablets, security cameras, doorbells, thermostats, smart devices, printers, cloud applications, VoIP, servers, remote workers and guest devices.

Yet many of these environments still depend primarily on the modem/router/Wi-Fi gateway supplied by the Internet provider.

That equipment may be adequate for some environments. For others, the internal network may need greater capacity, better coverage, additional wired infrastructure, properly designed wireless access points, improved switching, network segmentation or stronger security.

Buying faster Internet doesn’t automatically fix the network distributing it.

WHERE IS THE BOTTLENECK?

When your Internet provider tests the connection at its equipment, it may confirm that the service you’re paying for is reaching the property. That’s useful information—but it doesn’t tell the whole story.

What happens after the connection leaves the ISP equipment depends on your internal network.

A limitation in the gateway/firewall, switching, cabling, Wi-Fi coverage, wireless capacity or network configuration can affect the performance your users and devices actually experience.

That’s why ASAPTKS doesn’t simply ask:

“What Internet speed are you paying for?”

We also want to know:

“What is your internal network being asked to support?”

YOUR INTERNET CONNECTION IS ONLY THE BEGINNING

Once the Internet connection enters your property, performance depends on the infrastructure distributing that connection throughout the home or business.

INTERNET → MODEM / ISP HANDOFF → FIREWALL / GATEWAY → SWITCHING → CABLING → WI-FI ACCESS POINTS → USERS & DEVICES

Every part of that path matters.

A fast Internet connection cannot compensate for an internal network bottleneck. The firewall/router must be able to handle the workload. Switching must provide appropriate capacity. Cabling must support the required connections. Wireless access points must provide appropriate coverage and capacity for the devices using them.

The network performs as a system—not as a collection of individual boxes.

THE ASAPTKS NETWORK OPTIMIZATION PROCESS

ASSESS → MEASURE → IDENTIFY → ARCHITECT → OPTIMIZE → SECURE → VERIFY

We don’t begin by assuming every customer needs the same router, firewall, switch or wireless access point.

We begin by understanding the existing environment, documenting baseline performance and identifying where the network is actually being limited.

From there, ASAPTKS develops the appropriate infrastructure and configuration strategy based on the property’s workload, performance requirements and security needs.

After implementation, we test the environment again to verify the results.

BEFORE → OPTIMIZE → AFTER

WI-FI SHOULDN'T HAVE TO DO EVERYTHING

Wi-Fi is essential, but not every device in a home or business should have to compete for wireless capacity.

Where practical, ASAPTKS recommends hardwired connections for appropriate stationary and high-demand devices such as smart TVs, desktop computers, gaming systems, cameras, network equipment and other devices that do not need to move.

This helps reduce unnecessary wireless traffic and allows the Wi-Fi infrastructure to concentrate on the devices that actually require mobility—phones, tablets, laptops, smart devices and guest users.

For environments with many users and connected devices, properly sized switching and wireless access points can provide the capacity and coverage that a single ISP-provided gateway may not be designed to deliver throughout the entire property.

The objective isn’t simply stronger Wi-Fi.

It’s a properly designed network where cabling, switching, Wi-Fi, routing and security work together.

PERFORMANCE WITHOUT SECURITY IS ONLY HALF THE SOLUTION

Homes, home offices and small businesses now depend on more connected devices than ever—computers, cameras, smart devices, guest devices, remote-access systems and other Internet-connected equipment.

In many environments, all of those devices may still share essentially the same internal network.

Depending on the environment, ASAPTKS can design appropriate network separation for:

Business / Trusted Devices • Guest Users • Security Cameras • IoT / Smart Devices • Gaming & Entertainment • Servers / Critical Resources

Network segmentation, hardware firewall protection, secure Wi-Fi and VPN / remote-access controls can become part of the overall network architecture.

Performance and security should be designed together.

FOR HOMES & HOME OFFICES

A modern home network may be supporting several activities at the same time.

Someone may be working remotely or attending a video conference while others are streaming television, gaming online, using phones and tablets, and accessing smart-home devices. Meanwhile, security cameras, video doorbells, thermostats, lighting and other connected devices remain active on the network.

When all of that traffic depends primarily on one ISP-provided gateway or an internal network that wasn’t designed for today’s workload, performance can become inconsistent.

The question isn’t simply:

“Do I have Gigabit Internet?”

The better question is:

“Can my internal network reliably support everything I’m asking it to do?”

ASAPTKS evaluates the wired network, Wi-Fi coverage, device load, infrastructure capacity and security as parts of the same environment.

FOR SMALL BUSINESSES

For a business, network problems can quickly become productivity problems.

Employees may depend on cloud applications, Microsoft 365, video conferencing, VoIP phones, printers and scanners, servers, Wi-Fi, surveillance cameras, VPN connections and remote access—all operating across the same underlying infrastructure.

Slow or unreliable connectivity can affect employees, customer service, communications and daily business operations.

Increasing the Internet package alone doesn’t necessarily correct an internal network bottleneck.

ASAPTKS evaluates the infrastructure carrying those business systems—from cabling and switching through Wi-Fi, firewall security and secure remote access.

Your network isn’t just Internet access. It’s business infrastructure.

WE PROVIDE ENGINEERING — NOT JUST AN EQUIPMENT LIST

An ASAPTKS assessment is designed to identify the capabilities and infrastructure required to properly address the network problem—not simply produce a shopping list of equipment.

Our recommendations may identify requirements such as routing and firewall capacity, switching, structured cabling, wireless coverage and capacity, network segmentation, secure remote access and other infrastructure improvements.

Detailed equipment selection, network architecture, configuration and implementation are part of the professional solution.

You’re not hiring ASAPTKS just to recommend another router.

You’re hiring us to design, implement, optimize and secure a network that works together as a complete system.

REAL-WORLD PROOF — FROM THE CABLE TO THE FIREWALL™

Network optimization isn’t a new direction for ASAPTKS. It brings together work we’ve been performing for businesses and customers for decades—structured cabling, fiber, switching, Wi-Fi, firewalls, VPN, network security and ongoing network administration.

AOI — BUILD & DEPLOY

For Applied Optoelectronics’ Atlanta-area laboratory in Duluth, ASAPTKS implemented commercial network infrastructure including 264 structured Ethernet drops, two dedicated 24-strand single-mode fiber backbones, MDF/IDF infrastructure, switching, Wi-Fi access points, firewall integration, VLANs and network segmentation.

The project was completed under Gwinnett County commercial permit COMBLD2025-01371, with the Low Voltage Final recorded as PASS on its first recorded inspection.

RIOF — BUILD, SECURE, MODERNIZE & MANAGE

ASAPTKS’s documented work with RIOF dates to April 2013. Over that relationship, the environment has evolved from an office and warehouse network into integrated business infrastructure supporting servers, workstations, Microsoft 365, wired and wireless networking, WatchGuard firewall security, secure remote access, VPN, surveillance and ongoing network administration.

These are different environments with the same principle:

The network should be designed as a complete system.

IS YOUR INTERNET FAST — BUT YOUR NETWORK STILL STRUGGLES?

If you’re paying for high-speed Internet but still experiencing slow Wi-Fi, buffering, gaming lag, dropped video calls, unreliable cameras, dead zones or network slowdowns, the problem may be inside the network—not the Internet service coming into the property.

Let’s start with a conversation about what you’re experiencing and what your network is being asked to support.
